From the Madison Arts Council Board of Directors, April 2007: “The Madison Arts Council requests that all individuals and businesses refrain from all forms of solicitation between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. in the downtown Gazebo area on Monday nights June through August. The City of Madison has approved the use of this space for the Madison Arts Council, its performers, patrons and guests during this time. Prohibited solicitations include all sales and promotions by any person or business exclusive of the artists performing in the concert, as well as hose of a political nature. While we support the growth of business within Madison and an informed base of voters, our purpose during this time is to showcase the gifted artists who have volunteered their time and talents for our enjoyment.”
